Week of November 19-21

There will be noon dismissal on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week for Parent Teacher conferences. Please be on time since conferences usually run back to back and they are only 15 minutes each. Also remember to bring back your parent surveys that were sent home earlier in the week. I look forward to seeing you!

There will be a school mass on Wednesday, November 21. Some of the fourth grade students will be readers. All parents are welcome to join us. Wednesday is also the Food for Friends Cultural Day. Students will get to sample cuisines from the 43 countries represented in our school family community. This will begin at 11:00 a.m.

There will be no school on Thursday or Friday

HOMEWORK

Students need to read for 30 minutes each night, including weekends, and keep track of what they are reading in their school agendas. Students will take AR (Accelerated Reader) tests during our silent reading time at school on these books. Their participation in the AR program will count as a grade for Reading.

Homework is given every Monday-Thursday and occasionally on Friday. The homework usually consists of a Spelling and Math workbook assignment to help reinforce what was taught earlier in the school day. Additional assignments may also be assigned from Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, or Religion.

We will have weekly Spelling and Reading tests on Fridays. For all other subjects, I let students know at least a week in advance when there will be a test. At times, there may be pop quizzes. Students are allowed to take home their textbooks at any time to review or study as long as they are brought back the following school day.

The students write down all homework assignments and upcoming tests in their agendas. Agendas are to be signed nightly by a parent or guardian.
